Which ensembles for early music are there in Baden-Württemberg?

The German Music Information Centre (miz) lists special ensembles for early music in Baden-Württemberg, if at least half of their members are professional musicians and if they are currently present in public musical life. Ensembles for early music are usually sustained independently and perform music from the Middle Ages to early classical, partly also beyond this, predominantly in historically informed performance practice. Most of these ensembles focus on specific eras or periods within the broad period covered by the term early music, such as music of the Middle Ages. The reasons for this lie in questions of instrumentation and performance practice. The respective programme focuses and membership numbers as well as information about their instrumentation are described.
