There are more than 50 music information centres worldwide, most of them in Europe. They have an important educational function by providing facts and figures on musical life and the music industry. In many countries, they also act as event organizers, export offices and promotion institutions and support talent in the fields of contemporary music, classical music, jazz and popular music.
The German Music Information Centre (miz) lists the members of the International Association of Music Centres (IAMIC). In addition to the centres organised in the IAMIC, other institutions are listed if they are involved in the musical life of their country.
