What does the European Music Council do?

The European Music Council (EMC) is a non-profit organisation dedicated to the development and promotion of all genres and types of music in Europe. As a network, the EMC supports music-related activities of national music councils and European initiatives in the areas of music education, music creation, music performance, music production and musical heritage.
The German Music Information Centre (miz) describes the work of the European Music Council and its affiliated national committees. The national committees carry out tasks of promotion and cultivation of music with different focuses in their countries and represent the musical life of their country in the International Music Council.
