Beschreibung

Rachel Bersier, Soprano and Voice pedagogue:

After performing to critical acclaim the title role in Richard Strauss’ Ariadne auf Naxos at the Broomhill Music Festival in England,  Soprano Rachel Bersier appeared with the Virginia Opera. Further title roles are Turandot, Norma, and Donna Anna in Mozart’s Don Giovanni, Vanessa with the Kansas City Opera and the Mother in  Dayton Opera's production of Hänsel und Gretel. In New York, she sang Matilde, the leading role of Mascagni's opera Silvano in concert performances at Carnegie Hall and portrayed Agathe in Der Freischutz at New Yorks’s Liederkranz Opera Theatre.

“Based upon my years of study with the pedagogue Cornelius Reid, my teaching is geared towards helping students understand the function of the voice and discovering which tools each individual singer can use to reveal their unknown potential.

Working towards an ideal of balance of registers, purity of vowel tone and the capacity to sing from pianissimo to fortissimo, the singer is able to attain freedom in musical expression”

In Paris he work at the Atélier d'Art Lyric of the Conservatoire National de Musique et de Danse de Paris, became the musical director of an independent Opera Company and was head-hunted to conduct major musical events around the world for France's first TV channel.
