The aim of the Seminar is to meet artists and specialists of two distinct circles of electronic music - those coming from academic tradition of contemporary music, and those representing most sophisticated forms of music that emerged in dance and pop environment. However those two circles may seem separate, the music they compose very often sounds very similar.

Concerning this "meeting", many very interesting issues and questions arise, such as:

1. The idea of remixing artifacts of musical culture (musical works). The work of a composer in the hands of a DJ.

2. The idea (and tradition) of musical composition vs. the idea (and tradition) of musical improvisation (performance).

3. The diffusion of high and popular art.

4. The participation of dance factor in various genres of electronic music.

5. Sociopolitical consequences of the development of electronic music.

The main purpose of the Seminar is to meet composers, musicians, theorists, music producers and DJ’s and give them an occasion to exchange knowledge and experiences, as well as to discuss the questions mentioned above and other far-reaching topics. The Seminar will also be the forum for workshops and presentations.
