The International Contemporary Ensemble is proud to announce the 21st
Century Young Composers Project. The International Contemporary Ensemble is a collective of dynamic young musicians who are dedicated to creating, performing and advancing the music of our time. Through festivals, tours,inter-disciplinary collaborations and commissions by young composers around the globe, ICE brings new music to new audiences worldwide.

ICE invites young composers from around the world to collaborate with the Ensemble on a wide range of projects, offering composers the unique opportunity to work intensively with the country’s most talented young performers. ICE is currently accepting scores and seeking composers as collaborators for its 2003 concert season.

Guidelines for submission are as follows:

* Composers under age 35 of any nationality are welcome to submit scores.
* Works may have been premiered, but must have been written after 2000.
* Only one score per composer is permitted.
* Duration: 4-15 minutes. Instrumentation: 2-10 players. ICE frequently
collaborates with outside musicians, and does not discourage applicants from submitting scores of any instrumentation. The core instrumentation, however, is as follows: 2 fl, 2 ob, 2 cl, 1 bsn, sax, 3 harps, 3 vln, 2 vla, 2 vc, 2 db, pno, perc, voice.
* Acoustic-electronic music is welcome if a CD of pre-recorded materials
is provided.
* Please send a bio with phone number, e-mail address, a copy of the score (not original manuscript), a recording in CD or tape format (required), an a processing fee of $5.00 payable in US Dollars (check or money order) to the International Contemporary Ensemble.
* Composers’ name, duration, and instrumentation of the work must be
marked clearly in the score and accompanying recording. Score and recording will be returned only an SASE is included.
