Young People's Ensembles and Choruses

What orchestras and choirs for children and young people are there in Germany?

Numerous orchestras, choirs and ensembles offer children, young people and talented amateurs the opportunity to gain experience in ensemble playing. There are national and state youth ensembles for various instrumentations. They are often sponsored by the state music councils and are characterised by regular work phases.
The German Music Information Centre (miz) lists national and state ensembles that see themselves as institutions for the promotion of instrumental and vocal ensemble music-making. In addition, there are many other similar ensembles in regional and local areas, often run by associations and societies or by facilities for training and further education. All of these ensembles are an essential part of music promotion and the promotion of young talent; they are not listed for capacity reasons.
