Where are there tertiary-level schools of church music?

The Catholic and Protestant churches maintain their own tertiary-level schools of church music for the training of full-time church musicians. There are currently eight such institutions, three of which offer courses in Catholic church music and six of which offer courses in Protestant church music; the tertiary-level school of church music in Dresden offers courses for both denominations.
The German Music Information Centre (miz) lists institutions that are represented in the corresponding nationwide working groups: the Church Music Directors‘ Conference of the Evangelical Church in Germany (Direktorenkonferenz Kirchenmusik in der Evangelischen Kirche in Deutschland), the Conference of Heads of Training Centres for Catholic Church Music in Germany (Konferenz der Leiterinnen und Leiter der Ausbildungsstätten für katholische Kirchenmusik in Deutschland).
In addition to these institutions, it is also possible to study church music at most state-run tertiary-level schools of music.
