What is the organisational structure of musical life in the Evangelical Church?
In the Protestant state churches, there are offices for church music that are primarily dedicated to further training, e.g. in the areas of literature studies and reflection on work. The offices of some state churches also offer C examinations. District cantors supervise the church musicians in the individual church districts. They promote mutual exchange and are responsible for training the next generation of church musicians and for organising further training offerings in church music.
The German Music Information Centre (miz) lists the offices and departments for church music and their management structures.
