How many music publishers are there in Germany?

There are well over 300 music publishers in Germany. They publish books on music, sheet music and, in some cases, sound recordings and manage music rights in a publishing sense.
The German Music Information Centre (miz) lists music publishers represented in the German Music Publishers Association (DMV – Verband Deutscher Musikverlage) as well as other companies, provided information on their activities has been submitted. The presentation of the publishing programmes is based on information provided by the respective publisher as well as additional research by miz.
