What awards and prizes are there in the field of early music?

Awards in the field of early music are presented by government agencies, foundations, non-profit organisations and private sponsors, often together with public and private engagement. In most cases, personalities are honoured who have made a special contribution to the cataloguing, interpretation, maintenance and dissemination of the works of individual composers.
In addition to the promotion institutions listed at the German Music Information Centre (miz), there are numerous general art and culture prizes, especially from cities, municipalities and cultural organisations.
