Which authorities at the federal level influence musical life?

The Federal Government Commissioner for Culture and the Media (BKM) is responsible for wide areas of culture and media. In addition to states and municipalities, whose primary task is to promote culture, the BKM acts at the federal level, among other things through the promotion of institutions of national importance, through the representation of Germany's cultural and media policy interests in international committees and the cultural representation of the entire state in the federal capital Berlin. At the federal level, regulations in tax, social, youth, legal, economic and foreign policy also influence musical life.
