Compared to its peak in 2016 with a grand total of approx. 295.000, there were less pop and classical music records available in recent years. The total number of physical sound recordings in 2022 was 238.642, including singles, audio and video albums. The majority of offerings are audio albums.
After the total number of new releases remained at a comparably low level in 2020 and 2021, there were slightly more new productions available in 2022.
